Concrete Floor Finishing in an Electric Car Showroom – Premium Aesthetics and Industrial Durability
The automotive industry sets the highest standards not only for technology but also for aesthetics. Our latest project involves the floor finishing in the showroom of an American electric car manufacturer, located next to its German factory. This project demonstrates how the NORTEC® system transforms problematic concrete into a showcase for the brand.
The Challenge: From an Industrial Facility to a Luxury Showroom
The original plan called only for sodium silicate impregnation—a solution typically used in production halls. However, it turned out that the condition of the floor did not allow for a premium finish:
- Insufficient smoothness: The porous structure of the concrete did not meet the showroom’s visual standards.
- Construction damage: The unprotected surface became soiled and damaged during installation work.
Solution: Diamond polishing as an alternative to impregnation alone
We proposed to the client a change in concept to full concrete polishing. Our team performed precise repair of defects and a multi-stage grinding process that:
- Evened out the texture and gave the floor a subtle sheen.
Increased resistance to stains from operating fluids and tire marks. - Emphasized the modern, minimalist character of the interior.
We completed the work at the end of 2024, delivering a floor that combines a raw, loft-style look with exceptional ease of cleaning.
