Floor renovation following the purchase of the warehouse – conversion of the production facility into a distribution center

Purchasing an existing production facility often requires adapting the floor to new logistics processes. In 2019, Probeton completed a comprehensive floor renovation for a manufacturer of HVAC control equipment. Our task was to completely transform the damaged resin-concrete surface into a durable,  polished industrial concretethat meets the requirements of a modern distribution center.

Challenge: Removing old resin systems and repairing the substrate

The project required extensive preparatory work covering an area of as much as 8,700 m². The scope of work included:
  • Removal of old coatings: Mechanical removal of three different, overlapping resin flooring systems.
  • Structural repairs: Precise filling of hundreds of anchor holes left by machinery and repair of structural cracks in concrete.
  • Architectural details: Finishing hard-to-reach areas around structural columns using attractive and durable resin coatings.

Solution: Polished concrete using the NORTEC® system

The renovation process utilized  NORTEC® technology, which transformed the raw concrete into a premium-quality floor. The entire renovation process took just four weeks, providing the investor with:
  1. Low operating costs: A surface that is easy to keep clean and does not require regular waxing.
  2. Health and Safety: Certified slip resistance, essential for areas with heavy forklift traffic.
  3. Industrial durability: Resistance to abrasion and dust that exceeds the standards for warehouse facilities.

Impact and trust

The high quality of workmanship and timely completion of the project (8,700 m² in 4 weeks) led to an immediate extension of our partnership. The investor’s positive feedback resulted in an additional contract for the renovation of floors in adjacent sections of the facility.
